From an original setting of 4 detached houses, Princegate has secured planning permission on Reading Road for the development of modern, Lifestyle apartments. The 42 age-exclusive apartments will have a residents’ lounge, guest suite, managed landscaped gardens, residents parking plus the services of a dedicated and professional concierge.

Suitably located on the outskirts of Wokingham town centre, this 1.08 acre site is ideal for this age-exclusive development. As well as being within easy walking distance of all major amenities including supermarket, library, train station and post office, the neighbouring building currently houses WADE – Wokingham and District Association for the Elderly.

Working closely with Wokingham District Council Planning Officers, Urban Design Officers and other consultees, the scheme was developed to respect its setting on an important green route on the edge of Wokingham town centre, adjoining a conservation area and existing dwellings.

Fluid Design, the architects commissioned for this project, has given particular focus to the façade of this design creating a varied and articulated affect. It offers the appearance of a number of smaller buildings with a low linking element designed to create a significant visual break between the two sections of the building.

The attention to detail and close working relationship with the Local Authority enabled the Planning Committee to unanimously approve the scheme at the first time of asking in October 2005, only 10 months since Princegate acquired the site.
